🪛FAQ for windows GUI client

I. Storage Task Fails to Start

This is usually caused by network issues. Please check your network connection or switch to a different network before retrying.

II. PCDN Task Fails to Run Nodes

  1. Ensure you have restarted your computer after installing the client to activate service configurations.

  2. If you are running the node via a cmd terminal window, close the terminal first.

  3. Avoid Chinese characters, spaces, or special symbols in the installation path. Reinstall the program after adjusting the path.

  4. Agent service may fail to download due to low network speed. Check your network or switch to a different network.

III. PCDN Service Status: Offline

If nodes are restarted repeatedly within short intervals and show "offline" status, this typically indicates abnormal virtual machine service startup. The system will automatically attempt to restart.

Wait patiently for 30 minutes. If still offline, restart your computer and retry, or contact community support.

IV. PCDN Service Status: Deployment Failed (*multipass not installed)

This issue usually occurs due to virtual machine download failure caused by low network speed.

Solution:

  1. Stop the PCDN task in the client.

  2. Press Win + R, type cmd, and press Enter to open the DOS window.

  3. Run multipass list to check the virtual machine status:

    • If status is Stopped: Run multipass delete ubuntu-nilink -p.

    • For other statuses: Run multipass stop ubuntu-nilink --force first, then execute the command above.

  4. Restart the PCDN task. The system will re-download the virtual machine and run the node.

V. High Bandwidth Consumption

PCDN nodes share bandwidth to generate rewards, resulting in high traffic. Device operations may feel sluggish.

Use idle networks/devices where possible. If normal usage is impacted, temporarily disable the PCDN task.

VI. Poor Network Performance Without PCDN Tasks Running This is typically caused by virtual machine services not terminating properly or abnormal client closure.

Solution:

  1. Press Win + R, type cmd, and press Enter.

  2. Run multipass list to check the virtual machine status:

    • If status is Stopped: No action needed.

    • For other statuses: Run multipass stop ubuntu-nilink --force.

VII. Storage & PCDN Tasks Simultaneously Running Cause Disconnections

Usually caused by insufficient device resources. Check Resource Monitor—high memory usage indicates resource shortage. Workaround:

  • Run the PCDN task first. After stabilizing, enable the Storage task.

  • Alternatively, use a higher-specification device.

VIII. High Disk Space Usage

Storage tasks generate rewards by sharing disk space, which consumes storage.

To clean up space: Go to Settings > Task Settings and perform disk cleanup.

IX. Contact Community Support

For unresolved issues, contact community technical support. Required information:

  1. Node ID

  2. Operation logs (Export path: Client > Settings > Operation Logs menu)
